The Dolphin Swim and Snorkel is an unstructured experience: the naturally curious dolphins are free to interact with you as they choose. It takes place at Bailey’s Key, a small key in front of Anthony’s Key Resort, in the Sandy Bay area, private home of a large family of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins.

After crossing the resort’s lagoon and a short orientation at a beachfront cabana, you walk into waist-deep, crystal-clear water, where a trained naturalist introduces you to a resident dolphin. During this 30-minute encounter the trainer explains the dolphins’ characteristics, anatomy and behavior, and you can touch, kiss and play with them, with great photo opportunities.

Then comes the snorkel: for about 30 minutes, in a small group, you swim with more than a dozen resident dolphins inside their two-acre enclosure, with the best chances of close contact. If the dolphins prefer not to interact, they can always retire to a private area of the enclosure.

Requirements and information:

• Participants must be 8 years or older.
• Ages 8–13 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
• Prior snorkeling experience is required, and you must be comfortable with mask, fins and snorkel.
• Cameras and videos are not permitted in the water.
• Professional photos are available for purchase at the gift shop.
• Pregnant women are not permitted to participate.
• Total time with the dolphins is about 1 hour.
• Snorkel gear is not included: bring your own or rent it on site for $9.

Getting there: transportation to and from Anthony’s Key Resort is not included. You can arrive by taxi or with your own car; if you prefer, we can arrange the transfer for you at an extra cost.
