Wonderland Roatan Tours was born in 2016 from the meeting of two people who have spent their lives in tourism. Agostino Sarnari and Sara Garavaglia put together more than 40 years of experience organizing tours and travel in Honduras, Central America and Europe, with one simple idea: to offer the visitors of Roatan tours and excursions with first-class, personal attention, the kind you only get from people who know and love the island.
From an idea to a local tour operator
It all started with small trips for the foreigners living on the island. Very soon it became clear that Roatan, the most loved holiday destination of Honduras for both Honduran and international travelers, deserved a company dedicated to showing its best side. That is how Wonderland Roatan Tours, powered by Wonderland Original Travels S. de R. L. de C. V., became a local tour operator based in West End, in the heart of the west side of the island.
What we do
We organize tours, activities and excursions in Roatan for families, couples, groups of friends and cruise passengers. Our most requested experiences are in and around the sea:
- Dolphin encounters, swim and snorkel with dolphins and the Dolphin Action Swim at Bailey’s Key, Anthony’s Key Resort.
- The glass bottom boat, to see the coral reef without getting wet.
- Parasailing over the turquoise water of West Bay.
- Our 4 Stops Boat Tour: snorkeling on the reef, the dolphins, the starfish sanctuary and the mangroves.
We also help our guests plan custom days on the island and, when needed, in the rest of Honduras.
How we work
We are not a call center and we do not sell the same package to everybody. Every request is answered by real people who live here, and every tour is organized with trusted local guides, captains and providers that we know personally. Before confirming, we listen: how many you are, your ages, what you like, where you are staying, and, if you arrive by ship, at which port you dock and what time you must be back on board.
For cruise passengers this makes the difference. Roatan receives ships at Coxen Hole and Mahogany Bay almost every day, and a day in port goes by fast. We plan times and transfers so that you enjoy the island without stress and return to your ship on time.
Our island
Roatan lies on the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second largest barrier reef in the world. From the white sand of West Bay Beach to the colorful village of West End, from the calm bays of Sandy Bay to the wilder east end, the island offers clear water, coral, tropical forest and a relaxed Caribbean rhythm. We love it, we protect it, and we like to share it with respect: our guides remind every guest not to touch the coral and to follow the rules of the Roatan Marine Park.
